2018 was an incredible year for team evoke – starting off with our big move into our new HQ and finishing with the news of our BGF investment to aid growth and further development. We also celebrated 15 years in business, designing and manufacturing world leading digital solutions.
Last year our team built and shipped over 13,000 products to clients all over the world and our installation team were busy implementing our projects across 3 continents.
Our products were showcased at 2 national trade shows and we launched 2 new product ranges.
We recruited 31 new members of staff to roles across the organisation, welcomed 7 work experience students and 1 student placement. We also offered a permanent role to a student placement from 2017.
At our new HQ we spent 22 sunny lunchtimes in our outdoor space the evoke Green, hosted 95 friends and family at our grand opening (where we ate pizza and drank fizz), cuddled our 3 office dogs and unveiled our bespoke mural from local artist Emily Bartlett.
We were shortlisted for 8 national industry awards and received 256 votes in the Inspired Spaces competition to find the most inspired workplace in the North.
Throughout the year we danced, baked, jogged, joked and skydived (amongst loads of other activities) as part of our fundraising for our nominated charity of the year, Claire House Children’s Hospice. With an original target of £4000, by the end of the year we had raised £7304!
We ate 25 cakes baked by staff members, watched 8 world cup matches on our big screen and wore 24 odd socks for Down Syndrome awareness day. We organised 4 staff social events including a treasure hunt, quiz and glamorous Christmas party.
We participated in 3 STEM events with local schools and welcomed students from 2 universities to our HQ to find out about careers in tech.
During the festive season we put up 2 Christmas trees in our new HQ, wore our Christmas jumpers and offered 20 gifts from suppliers as prizes in our staff raffle.
2019 is already shaping up to be just as exciting, with a trip to the National Retail Federation Show in New York this month and plenty more staff social activities and charity fundraising planned. Watch this space!
